Cameras

Security cameras you own, with no subscription to keep your own footage.

We install Ubiquiti UniFi cameras, the same gear used in offices, schools, and warehouses. The recorder sits in your building, the footage belongs to you, and there are no per-camera fees from the manufacturer.

What's going on, and what we do about it

Many popular camera systems are cheap up front and then charge every month, per camera, just to keep your own footage. Stop paying and features shut off. A six camera shop can spend more on subscriptions over three years than a system it would own outright.

Our packages are all in. Standard hardware, install labor, and our design and setup are in the package price, and the hardware is listed at our cost on your quote so you can see exactly what you are paying for. Cameras sit on their own network away from your computers, footage is saved on a recorder in your building with an optional off-site copy, and you get live view and playback from your phone. All camera and door wiring is performed under a Georgia low-voltage license.

What's included and what isn't

Written down so there are no surprises on the quote.

What's included

  • 4 or 6 camera packages, all in. Standard hardware, install labor, and our design and setup are in the package price.
  • The 4 camera package includes 4 UniFi cameras, a recorder, PoE power for each camera, a storage drive, and 4 standard cable runs
  • The 6 camera package includes 6 cameras, the recorder and PoE power, a larger storage drive, and 6 standard cable runs
  • Hardware listed at our cost on your quote
  • More cameras added as needed, $450 each installed, one camera and one standard run on a free recorder port, larger drive not included
  • Cameras on their own network, separate from your computers
  • Footage saved on a recorder in your building, with an optional off-site copy
  • Live view and playback from your phone
  • Optional ongoing care by us, $20 per camera a month, so updates and footage requests go through the same people every time

What it's not

  • Monitored alarm service. We don't do alarm systems or call-center monitoring.
  • Mixing brands. One system means one app and fewer things to break.

Questions owners ask

What does the 4 camera package include?

4 UniFi cameras, a recorder with PoE power so one cable powers each camera, a storage drive, 4 standard cable runs, the install labor, and our design and setup. Hardware is itemized at our cost on the quote.

How is the 6 camera package different from 4 cameras plus 2 more?

The 6 camera package includes a larger storage drive than the 4 camera package, sized for six cameras, and is designed and set up as one six camera system. Each additional camera at $450 is one camera and one standard run added to an existing recorder, without a larger drive, so six cameras on the 4 camera drive record for less time. A larger drive can be added at our cost. That drive is one real difference between the two, not the whole price difference.

Is there really no subscription?

There is no manufacturer subscription. The recorder is in your building and the footage is yours. What you pay us monthly, $20 per camera, covers real work. Updates, keeping footage saved, and pulling clips when you ask. You can stop that with 30 days notice and the cameras keep recording.

How long is footage kept?

It depends on the drive size, the number of cameras, the recording settings, and how much activity there is. We estimate recording time on your quote, check it after install, and adjust settings if needed. It is an estimate, not a guarantee. An off-site copy is optional.

Can we watch the cameras from home?

Yes. Live view and playback work from the UniFi app on your phone or a browser, from anywhere.

Who runs the wiring?

All camera and door wiring is performed under a Georgia low-voltage license. Cable runs are listed on your quote.

Do you do alarms or monitoring?

No. Our care watches the health of the system, like a camera going offline, not the video itself. For a monitored alarm or live video monitoring we will tell you who to call. See care for installed systems.

Can cameras and door access share one system?

Yes, and that is the point. Cameras, door readers, and Wi-Fi on one UniFi system, one app, and one set of people who look after it.
