New hires and departures

New hires ready on day one, and former staff shut off when they leave.

Every hire and every departure touches email, files, passwords, phones, and the door. We keep the checklist so nothing is missed, and we act only on requests from people you have authorized.

The problem, and what we do about it

The risky part of a departure isn't the goodbye. It is the mailbox that stays active, the shared password nobody changed, the badge that still opens the door, and the files that lived only on that person's laptop.

We keep a start and exit checklist for your business. For a new hire, the account, license, laptop, password manager, and door badge are ready on day one when we get enough notice. For a departure, sign-in is blocked, sessions are signed out, passwords they knew are changed, agreed email and files are kept and handed to the right person, and badges and devices are handled where those systems are ones we look after.

Who it's for

Honest on purpose, so nobody wastes a call.

A good fit

  • Any business that hires or loses people, even once a year
  • Owners who want a dated record that a former employee was shut off

Not a fit

  • Requests from anyone other than the people you authorize
  • HR, payroll, or legal steps around a departure

What you get

Written down so there are no surprises on the quote.

What's included

  • Accounts, licenses, and groups set up for new hires
  • A laptop ready on day one when it is ordered in time
  • Password manager and two-step login set up for each new person
  • Sign-in blocked and sessions signed out when someone leaves
  • Shared passwords they knew changed
  • Agreed email and files kept and handed to the person taking over
  • Door badges added or removed, and devices collected or reset, when those systems are in scope
  • A dated record of what was done

What it's not

  • Systems we don't manage, like your bank or industry software. We list them for you to change
  • Recovering data from a personal device
  • HR or legal advice

What it costs

The published prices below apply. Anything outside them gets a fixed price in writing before any work starts.

Without the care plan$150 an hour, quoted first
Microsoft licenses and laptopsAt our cost

See the price for this on the pricing page

Departures outside business hours that cannot wait are emergency work at $200 an hour with a 2 hour minimum, when we are able to take it.

What it depends on

  • A request from a person you have authorized in writing, by email or text
  • Same day shutoff applies to requests received during support hours
  • Badge and device steps apply when we look after those systems

Scheduling

New hire setup goes smoothest with a few business days of notice, and longer when a laptop has to be ordered.

Next step

Book a 15-minute call. If you are already on the care plan, just email or text the request.

How it works

Simple on purpose. You always know what's next and what it costs.

  1. A 15-minute call

Tell us what's going on. We'll tell you honestly if we're a fit.

  2. A quick look

A short visit or a remote session so we see your setup for real.

  3. A fixed price in writing

What we'll do, what it costs, and when. The price doesn't move.

  4. Scheduled work

We book a time that doesn't shut your business down, then get it done. Reply times and support hours are on the service levels page.

Questions owners ask

Someone is leaving today on bad terms. What do we do?

Call or text right away. During support hours we block sign-in and sign out their sessions first, then work through the rest of the checklist. Outside business hours, emergency work is $200 an hour with a 2 hour minimum, when we are able to take it.

What happens to their email and files?

We keep them as you decide. Usually the mailbox is converted so a manager can read it or forwarded, and their OneDrive files go to whoever takes over, before the license is removed.

Who can ask you to shut someone off?

Only the people you name in writing, usually the owner and one manager. We confirm any request that comes from someone else.

Do field employees need the full care plan?

Not always. A crew member who only needs email on a phone can be covered differently from an office employee with a laptop. We size it on the call.
