What a small business website costs
Two website quotes that differ by ten times are usually quoting two different projects. Here is what drives the price, what to ask, and where our published prices sit.
The short answer
A business website can cost anything from a monthly builder subscription you set up yourself to tens of thousands of dollars for a custom build from an established agency. Scope drives almost all of it. How many pages, how much custom functionality, who writes the words, and what happens after launch.
What agencies list as minimums
Clutch, the largest directory of agencies, shows the smallest project each firm accepts. For web design firms in its Atlanta listing, read in October 2026, those minimums mostly fall between $5,000 and $50,000. Minimums are not prices, and most real projects land above them. The space below $5,000 for a well built small business site is thin, which is where our published prices sit.
The six things that move the price
- Number of pages. A page for each main service is also how local businesses get found, so page count is often money well spent.
- Custom build or template. A template is cheaper up front, looks like everyone else in your category, and often loads slowly on a phone.
- Features. Booking, deposits, estimators, intake forms, client logins, and connections to other software each add scope.
- Words and photos. If you supply finished copy and good photos, the project is smaller.
- Search setup. Basic search settings belong in every build. A page plan built around real searches and a Google profile set up properly go further.
- Care after launch. Hosting, backups, updates, and changes are an ongoing cost, whether it is listed or not.
Hidden costs to ask about
- Who owns the domain, the content, and the code when the project ends.
- Theme and plugin licenses that renew every year on template builds.
- Stock photo and font licenses.
- What changes cost after launch if you are not on a plan.
- Redirects from your old site, which protect your search rankings during a redesign.

Cheap websites are often expensive
A low price that produces a slow, generic site that never shows up in search costs you customers every month. Compare what each option is likely to bring in over a few years, not only what it costs to build.
What it costs in metro Atlanta
What does a small business website cost in metro Atlanta?
Web design firms in the Clutch Atlanta listing, read in October 2026, mostly set project minimums between $5,000 and $50,000. Our business website is from $2,500 for up to 8 pages built from scratch, and a landing page is from $900.
Is hosting included in the website price?
No. Hosting and care is an optional monthly line at $75 a month, or $50 on a care plan. It covers hosting, the security certificate, backups, updates, form checks, and small changes.
Why do two Atlanta website quotes differ so much?
They usually describe different projects. Page count, custom features, who writes the words, and care after launch drive most of the price, so compare the written scopes, not the totals.
